Controling Negative Thinking

Over the past few months it has been somewhat difficult to control my thoughts. My thoughts have been all over the place. They have been consumed with a lot of negativity. Maybe its what/who I am surrounding myself with?? I love being around people who have consistent positive attitudes. They are like Paul who had learned to be consistent no matter what life threw at him. (Philippians 4:11) He understood that life is full of change and that as adults we have to learn to deal with it. Otherwise life will steal your joy. I am trying to stay grounded in the word. I have been meditating on scriptures concerning the mind, wisdom, operating in the spirit and not the flesh and making right choices. This has helped me so much thus far.  I have noticed now that when negative thoughts now come into my mind, Gods word automatically pops into my spirit.

Recently, I visited my coworkers church, Mt. Gilead in Richmond Va. Their Bishop, Dr. Daniel Robertson Jr. taught a sermon entitled “God desires for us to enjoy life”   God doesn’t want to us to be frustrated, confused or sad. He desires the complete opposite. Bishop Robertson stated,  “If the enemy can control your mind he can control your emotions.” He has an affirmation that he repeats often which is “Think, Believe and Speak ONLY Abundance” I love it! I have to learn that when my thoughts do not align with what God’s word says that is when I need to speak the opposite. Eventually, the negativity will be dumped and my thought process with be consumed with positivity again.

We have to become aware that we have full control over what we think. So don’t let thoughts pop into your mind and feel required to dwell on them. Speak back to them with positivity and God’s word. It may take more than one time of doing this to be healed in this area. ( Oh and you better believe that the devil will try to creep back in with negative thoughts you must be ready through by staying grounded even once the test has been passed and you have been healed)  It may take several. You may be like Naaman who had to be dipped in the water seven times to become healed. But the word says that once he was healed of his disease his skin was a healthy as the skin of a young child. (2 Kings 5)  You may have to be dipped several times to be freed of whatever it is your are going through but lean on Gods word and STAND firm. We must make up in our minds that we will past the test so that we can embark on the next level of spiritual growth that God has for us.

I hope and pray this blesses someone. I am going to post even though there are probably errors. I will proofread tomorrow.

Love,

Sweet Lady J
