Mirror Him

"Emotions arise to remind us that we are growing"-Iyanla Vanzant

Ahhhh that is sooo good. Here is a lil note I wrote to myself.....

If you want to grow, you have to be willing to grow through the pain. God can take it away, but He wont most times because He wants us to grow. When we pray to have a heart like His we are gonna have to go through some things that test us and eventually grow us into the person He wants us to be with a heart that mirors His. Pray the prayer. Prepare for the blessing. Grow through the pain (of testing) and then walk in your harvest.

Hope this blesses someone!

Love,

Sweet Lady!

Product Discountinued

Image result for product discontinued sign

Contrary to my previous profile picture I have ALL natural hair.  I have been natural for two years now. I love my natural hair. It’s a lot of work but, I love it. Needless to say this journey has not been easy. Having to buy products can be detrimental on your pockets. You never know if a certain product will work for your hair type.  Recently, I had decided to get box braids as a protective style. I kept them in for about a month and a half. After taking them out, I had to restock some of my “staple” products. One of them being the, control paste by Curls. I use this paste to slick my hair back when it’s in a puff and I even use it to do my twist outs (gives me a more defined look).  However, I have been two every local Walmart, Target and Sally’s and cannot find it. The Sally’s beauty supply associate told me that Sally’s has discontinued selling it. Which lead me to believe the product could have been discontinued by the brand as well. Today I went to the curls website to look for the product and it was not listed. To my dismay it seems that the product has been discontinued.

On the hunt I go for a new control paste to slick these edges and define my twists. Quickly, after doing a YouTube search I came across the crème of nature, perfect edges. Its looks very similar to the Curls control paste I was using. The curls control paste was $7.99 and the crème of nature, perfect edges is 4.98 at Walmart.  The frugal side of me was ecstatic about the price decrease.  I will be purchasing the Crème of nature perfect edges this weekend. Wish me luck on my results.

I say all this to say, sometimes God will discontinue things or people in our lives that we hate to see go but,  we have to trust His process. Once it’s all said and done, He does it to SAVE us from headache and heartache in the future. So don’t be reluctant  when God discontinues things or people in your life. Sit back and enjoy the ride and remember that God works everything out for our good. (Romans 8:28) J

Have a great day!

Just Do it

So I know your probably wondering, why the Nike symbol?  Well, one of the most vital lessons that God has is teaching me currently is to Just do it and to be obedient to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. I truly believe that joy and peace come from being obedient to God.  Being obedient to God isn’t easy but we have to do it to remain in the will of God and to live out his full purpose for our lives.

Life is hard! It really never gets easy. There are good times and bad times.  But what I have learned is that sitting around with excuses of why we can’t, will not get us anywhere. The key is to be consistently content in both the good and bad times. In my life I have had so many plans of what should be and what could have been but most times they didn't happen the way I had envisioned in my little fantasy world. God had other plans. I guess that’s why he requires us to freely let him work in our lives. It’s ok to plan your day if that is what keeps you accountable, but there is no need to plan every second preparing for the worst more than the good.  We have to have faith that good will happen, but if bad does god allowed it for a reason and will work it out for our good. His word says no weapon formed against us shall prosper.

Let go, let flow. When I lived in a space of just flowing I had so much more peace. God showed up in my life so many times over and over. Many times bringing me to tears. It’s hard to be obedient to God. I am not going to lie. That’s when we must remember  Hebrews 12:11:

“No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. (NLT)

When you receive your harvest from planting seeds of obedience your life will be forever changed. God has so much he wants to do in our lives. Let God lead you through the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

#Hashtag

I have been MIA from posting on my blog, however I still write notes to myself in my phone. Here is one as of lately....( I apologize in advance for any inappropriate words)

Hair tied. Crust around the rim of my lips. Hello Kitty sweat pants. Tank. Fuzzy Socks.  That's when I'm the prettiest. Makeup, groomed eyebrows, fancy clothes, Louis bag, those things are just accessories to the beauty that I already see within me. I may not have the fattest ass, the biggest or most perkiest boobs, or even curves for days ( I happen to think my best curve is my smile). I may not even have extreme sex appeal and I cant do a sexually enticing facial expression to save my life. (Yall know them sexy face selfies??)

Look, I am NOT that bad BITCH you see on Instagram or Facebook. Sorry I rather keep the body God has graced me with sacred for you and I. I don't feel the need to post pics of my ass or tits or with just my panties with captions like " Look back at it or Twerk Suthing Gurl" HAAAASHTAAG #doitforthelikes. I am much more secure than that. I'm confident and sexy. I know it. I do not need 300 followers that have no significant impact on my life and did not die for me to tell me that. I am a Queen. Thank God. I am not the most secure Queen ( I have my insecurities, who doesn't) but, I'm a work in progress. Growing and maturing in Gods image. I am loyal, kind, sweet, trust worthy and loving. I appreciate those things about me. I can only hope others do as well but, if not I will not force friendships or relationships with people to see the bright light that shines from within me.

Whine and Complain

So I recently became an owner of the sweetest lil shih tzu, Daisy. However, every morning while I am getting dressed for work she goes under my bed and hides because she knows its almost time for me to leave. So, to stop this from happening, I leave her in the living room while I am in my bedroom putting on my clothes. Needless to say, she doesn't like that much. Every morning she scratches the door and whines. So this morning when I come out, I tell her " Honey you put some much unnecessary energy into whining when you know momma would not leave you out here forever. I coming right back." That was such an ah ha moment. God said to me right then. That's the same thing with me. Why do you whine and complain like, I am not coming back. I am not going to leave you there forever. Just sit and be patient. God can use anything or anyone to speak to us! Love our relationship. Have a Great Weekend!

Irony of Affirmation

We can't truly love until we don't need it. We have to be not just full of love, but over flowing with Gods love. If we are not overflowing with love we will just need more and more of it to be satisfied. Which no human can ultimately satisfy. Only God can. Receive Gods love and pour out His overflow onto others.

Jesus died on the cross so that we don't have to need anyone to affirm us. The ultimate sacrifice. That's what love is anyways (if we are doing it Gods way). If we are not willing to sacrifice or risk then we are not ready to love. We have to be willing to take a risk that the love we give will not be reciprocated. Love and fear don't go hand in hand. We all fear and that won't change, but when we operate in love we do it despite the fear we may feel on the inside.

We have to get to the place where Gods love is enough and are content regardless of our circumstances. When we don't need the love of others that is when our "cup" will overflow with His love and we can finally pour out His love.

Have a great weekend!

Love,

Sweet Lady
