Contrary to my previous profile picture I have ALL natural hair. I have
been natural for two years now. I love my natural hair. It’s a lot of work but,
I love it. Needless to say this journey has not been easy. Having to buy
products can be detrimental on your pockets. You never know if a certain
product will work for your hair type. Recently, I had decided to get box
braids as a protective style. I kept them in for about a month and a half.
After taking them out, I had to restock some of my “staple” products. One of
them being the, control paste by Curls. I use this paste to slick my hair back
when it’s in a puff and I even use it to do my twist outs (gives me a more
defined look). However, I have been two every local Walmart, Target and
Sally’s and cannot find it. The Sally’s beauty supply associate told me that
Sally’s has discontinued selling it. Which lead me to believe the product could
have been discontinued by the brand as well. Today I went to the curls website
to look for the product and it was not listed. To my dismay it seems that the
product has been discontinued.
On the hunt I go for a
new control paste to slick these edges and define my twists. Quickly, after
doing a YouTube search I came across the crème of nature, perfect edges. Its
looks very similar to the Curls control paste I was using. The curls control paste
was $7.99 and the crème of nature, perfect edges is 4.98 at Walmart. The
frugal side of me was ecstatic about the price decrease. I will be
purchasing the Crème of nature perfect edges this weekend. Wish me luck on my
results.
I say all this to say,
sometimes God will discontinue things or people in our lives that we hate to
see go but, we have to trust His process. Once it’s all said and done, He does it
to SAVE us from headache and heartache in the future. So don’t be reluctant when God discontinues things or people in your
life. Sit back and enjoy the ride and remember that God works everything out
for our good. (Romans 8:28) J
Have a great day!
